Home: In Tribute of my Father

I am so grateful for the second opportunity to be featured on Brian M. Hayden's blog! He is a dear friend, and the author of The Road to Transplant (and more books) where he takes you along to witness the final mile on his incredible journey to a heart transplant.

This time, my guest post focused on the opening poems in my book, Home. These poems, and the entire book, is in tribute of my father:

This is the place where he put pen to paper…
But clung to the wall, the shelves are now bare
All that remains of his words is but vapor
All you can spot is but a dent in his chair

Place A Favorite Son on the Shelf of Your Library

Yoo-hoo! Just got this note from the Reference Services in Santa Monica Public Library, regarding A Favorite Son:

"Our materials selection staff has decided to add this title to the collection.  Please be aware it can take several weeks before added items are available for checkout.  In this case, since the book is not available through the Library's usual vendor, Baker & Taylor, there may be an additional delay."

My work relies entirely on word-of-mouth. Your word-of-mouth. So if you wish to help me spread the word, please bring this book to the attention of your own library. Tell the librarian  to order this ★★★★★ book--numerous reviews--so you and other readers may read it.

My Chat at the Chateau

It was such a pleasure, and an honor too, to be invited for a chat with Lisette Brodey, the author of Crooked MoonMolly Hacker Is Too Picky!  and Squalor, New Mexico.

Just being here, at Lisette Writer's Chateau, makes you feel as if you have arrived from a ride at the French countryside, the gate opens before you and now a place is cleared beside her in front of the fireplace, where a little flame is dancing before your eyes...

Check it out: my chat at the chateau.

Wow! It Has Arrived, It's Finally Here!

"There is a quality so deep and raw in Apart from Love that it's almost impossible to put this book down. In my opinion, Uvi Poznansky writes like a painter. She starts with a clean canvas and dabs a little paint here and a little paint there as she develops her characters and creates her masterpiece. Her strokes then become broader, more passionate, more vivid and vibrant as she continues to let her characters' stories unfold. She draws you in to a deeper level than you might actually want to go as she ignites the fire to your own love, passions, and fears."

Featured on Writers Get Together

Siggy Buckley is a former matchmaker par excellence - or Dating Guru as the Irish media liked to call her. She was born in Germany, then emigrated to Ireland with her family. Life on an Irish farm led to the break-up of our marriage which led to me running a dating agency which led to writing her book. Siggy has just featured my poetry book on the WGT (Writers Get Together) blog.

Friday Night We Have a Date

Friday night we have a date
Check your watch... Don't be late!
Just don't ask, Will you be mine?
Here's the bottle: uncork the wine

I'll bring chocolates, no need to cook,
Oh wipe my tears: the audiobook
Is still not here... But luckily
I just enjoy your company

No more sadness, no more blues
Lets put on our dancing shoes!
Friday night we have a date
Check your watch... Don't be late!

News Flash about Audiobook Release!

Check it out! This news flash, put together by Erika Goodkin of Literati Consulting PR, has just been released:

Israeli-American Author Releases New Book of Biblical Fiction

Among other things, this news flash reveals who wrote the praise on the back cover of the print edition of my novel, Apart From Love. Hint: guess who wrote the screenplays for the blockbuster movies 'Every Which Way But Loose', 'Any Which Way You Can' (with Clint Eastwood in the title role), and 'Going Ape' (with Tony Danza in the title role.)

A Must Read

Just discovered a new review of A Favorite Son!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must ReadMay 11, 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Favorite Son (Kindle Edition)
This book is a superb modern day version of the biblical story of Isaac and Rebecca and their twin sons. It tells of how deceitful and greedy people can be within their own families.

The author also writes poetry and it shows in her beautiful flowing way with words. It's a book to remember!

And what about ♥ Love ♥

This is my watercolor titled A Thousand and One Nights, in which I explored how the roundness of the female figure is complemented and contrasted by the rectangular divisions in the picture plane. Here is Shahrazad, whose life depends on her story-telling ability. If the king is bored with her, he will send her to her death, as he has done with his previous harem girls. As long as he is intrigued by her words, he will let her live. In a way, she is the perfect symbol for what I am doing here: tell a story, and hope it will entertain you.

Voice of a Kindle Book

I'm waiting to be taken, but now, be forewarned
Don't you dare come near me, or else you'd be scorned--
Unless you delight in contemporary fiction
And enjoy reading a book with detailed scene depiction

If you let me pull you in, deep inside
Until you find yourself there, in my characters' mind
I'll make you burn in hell, ablaze in desire,
I'll let you swirl like smoke, ever higher and higher

I'll bring you down here: Santa Monica, Venice Beach
For a father-son meeting, with a blame and a breach
You'll hear Lenny, Natasha, Anita and Ben
And be tortured by guilt, again and again

Find a path to forgiveness, find a way to come clean
Find the words to explain what exactly you mean
Turn page after page, then fall to your knee
'Cause Apart From Love, no feeling  is free

Am I to to stay, and thus be free?

Am I a leaf about to drift
About to fly away, to chance
The cold, the heat, the drop, the lift
Upon the wing of wind, to dance?
Or else, nestled in this tree
Am I to stay, and thus be free?
Here I am, Apart From Love
Flying Home just like a dove
The air is trembling, I am spun
Can I become A Favorite Son?

A family Saga
